HDMI cables just joined the RGB ecosystem of things with the VIVIFY ARQUUS W73 2.0b RGB-lit cable. The VIVIFY ARQUUS W73 is the world’s first RGB-lit fibre optic HDMI cable. It is compatible with a wide variety of devices including PCs, laptops, home theatres, and consoles such as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The VIVIFY ARQUUS W73 2.0b RGB HDMI cable supports 4K at high frame rates and vivid colour depth settings. The cable has been tested and approved by DPL Labs’ highest 4K certification standard for 4K compatibility, a bandwidth of 18Gbps and deep colour.

RGB Light-Up Cable

Gamers will stand out with the ARQUUS W73 RGB-lit HDMI cables featuring a colour cycling mode effect or static lighting with 7 colour options (red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue and purple); controlled by the included touch sensor. The patent-pending light-up cable is only made possible through experimentation with different types of plastic fibre material and countless hours of fine-tuning the light diffuser to achieve such smooth light-up for up to 15ft/4.5meters on a flat and flexible HDMI cable.

Fibre Optic for Superior Data Transmission, Length & Lightness

The ARQUUS W73 uses fibre optic construction that minimizes signal degradation and electromagnetic interference (EMI). This delivers superior colour depth, brightness, and contrast compared to traditional copper HDMI cables. The fibre optic construction also makes it slimmer and more flexible for easier cable management.

4K Tested via DPL Labs

The VIVIFY ARQUUS W73 meets the highest of audio-visual standards. It is compatible with HDR 10, HDCP 2.2 and supports 4K UHD resolution at 60Hz. It obtained DPL4K 18G-DC certification from DPL Labs, the highest standard for 4K compatibility. The certification ensures 4K compatibility at varying frame rate, colour depth and colour sampling settings, up to 4K60Hz @ 8-bit 4:4:4 or 12-bit 4:2:2, see DPL Labs certification here.

UPDATE: 25.01.2020

Hello to everyone arriving at this article from Linus Tech Tips. For clarification, the claim that "this delivers superior colour depth, brightness, and contrast compared to traditional copper HDMI cables." was made in a press release received on November 6th from Vivify's PR agency. The section of the release read:

Fiber Optic for Superior Data Transmission, Length & Lightness

Due to its fiber optic construction, signal degradation and electromagnetic interference (EMI) are minimized to provide superior color depth, brightness, and contrast; especially over long distances compared to traditional copper HDMI cables. It is also more flexible and slimmer, and offers better signal quality without the use of external power, external boxes or converters.
